St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place this Saturday, March 17th. St. Vincent is the defending champ in the education category, and we are looking to make a great showing again this year. Please get your green on and come out to join us!
We would like to have an idea of how many will be attending so we can plan appropriately. Please RSVP with your family count to email@example.com by Friday, March 16th at 10:00AM.
Participants will need to be at the line-up area on 500 East 200 South by 9:30 a.m. on March 17th. Those interested in car-pooling or caravaning to the staging area should meet at the St. Vincent pavilion at 7:45 a.m. (The parade organizers said that our float needs to be in its spot by 8:30 a.m., but your children do not.) There is also ample parking near the parade route if you choose to meet us there – just click on the parking finder link to find available lots.
The Parade will proceed along 200 South and concludes at State Street near the Gallivan Center. Everyone is invited to celebrate at the post-parade Siasma for Irish music, food, and dancing. The Siasma will start at 11:30 a.m. at the Gallivan Center.
Missoula Children’s Theatre Tryouts March 19th
Announcing this year’s Missoula Children’s Theatre production: “The Wiz of the West.” Missoula Children’s Theatre is a free, one-week after-school program introducing students to the performing arts. This year they will be at the school March 19th – 24th.
Tryouts will be next Monday, March 19th in the gym after school for grades Kindergarten through 8th. There are tryouts because Missoula limits the number of participants based on which play they are performing. This year 50 to 60 will be cast in the play.
Download the Disappointment Letter to learn more about handling disappointment if a child is not cast.
No acting experience is needed to tryout. Rehearsals are every day that week from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (The 6:00-8:00 rehearsal time is for those who are chosen for one of the main roles.) If selected, students must attend all rehearsals required for their role. The play will be performed in the school gym on Saturday, March 24th at 12:30 and 3 p.m. A nominal fee will be charged to attend the play.
We will be emailing the 3rd quarter report cards today, March 13th. From now on, we will go paperless with the report cards. If you have any questions, please contact the school office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information You Want to Know about Discipline
This is the last of 3 installments Mrs. Lambert and I have prepared on discipline. We have included these in the blast emails because discipline is the top area in which we receive questions from parents. I highly encourage you to read everything we have included, in particular, if you have ever felt that the school is too easy or too hard on students who break the rules. Please contact us if you have any questions that are not answered here (Gary Green, email@example.com or 801-527-2042; Sarah Lambert, firstname.lastname@example.org or 801-527-2069).
