Saint Vincent Talent Show May 18th

Don’t forget that the annual Saint Vincent Talent Show will be held this Thursday, May 18th from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. Download the Talent Show Entry Form or pick one up in the main office. There are only 30 slots available, so please do not delay getting entries in.

School Fees

All fees will be due on June 5th and will automatically be taken out of your tuition account. The fees for the 2017-2018 school year are as follows:

  • Student Services Fee: K-8th grade, $175 per child
    (Includes student insurance, Diocesan fees, textbooks, standardized tests, technology fee, workbooks, and yearbook)
  • Math Fee: 6th – 8th grade, $175 per child
  • Graduation Fee: 8th grade only, $75

All fees are non-refundable. If you do not have an automatic withdrawal account, please send a check to the school office by June 5th.

8th Grade Graduation

In celebration of our 8th grade graduates, we will have an all school mass this Thursday at 10:30. (We will have our regular Friday weekly Mass as well at 9:00 the next day.)

Retirement Reception – May 22, 2017

We are having a retirement reception for Carol Barman and Rosemary Bennett on Monday, May 22 from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM in the Holy Family Hall. Please RSVP to the school office today, May 16th. We will be having appetizers and drinks. A big thank you for all the years of service they have given at Saint Vincent de Paul Parish School.

BBQ – May 20, 2017

The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a barbecue for the students, families, and faculty/staff after the 5:00 PM mass on this Saturday, May 20th. There is no cost. This is also a great opportunity to meet and congratulate Mr. Jeff Allen and his wife Mindi. Jeff has just been accepted into the Diaconate Formation Program.

Garden Clean-Up

Garden Clean-Up: This Sunday, May 21 beginning at 9:00am, we will prepare the student garden for planting. (The school garden is by the shed next to the baseball field closest to King’s Row Drive. It is not the prayer garden next to Nano Nagle.) Please bring gloves, shovels, and spades, if you have them. This is great way to earn Helping Hands and PIP hours, as well as a great thing to do in support of our focus on service. The produce we grow goes to the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen in the fall.

End of the Year Swim Day

Mark your calendar for the End-of-the-Year Swim Party:

Wednesday, May 24th – Grades 1st through 4th
Thursday, May 25th – Grades 5th through 7th

11:30am – We will eat in the Pavilion at School
12:00pm – We will start walking to Holladay Lions Recreation Center
2:30pm- We will walk back to school

Your child’s teacher has passed out the permission slips for the swim day. They are due back by Friday, May 19th.

**Students who brought in used uniforms may wear their swimsuits under their free dress.

Used Uniforms

Don’t forget you may start bringing in your gently used uniforms (no holes, no broken buttons or zippers) in a bag labeled with your name to the school office. Those donating will receive FREE DRESS for the last week of school! We will collect used uniforms until Friday, May 19th.

Used uniforms will be sold on Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and May 22nd and 23rd before and after school in the school gym. This is a great way to save money!

HSA will need help the week before the sale to set up, as well as during the sales times. Remember, volunteers get first pick! 🙂

Lost and Found

We will display the lost-and-found items during the used uniform sale in the GYM. Please look through these items to see if any of them belong to you. Any items left in the lost-in-found after Wednesday, May 24th will be donated to a charity.

Summer Math Books

Summer Math books are available for $15.00. Homeroom teachers will have the math books in their classrooms. These books are required for students entering 1st through 8th grade. Completed books will be turned in the first day of school in the fall. Questions regarding math books may be directed to your child’s teacher. All Summer Math books need to be purchased by Tuesday, May 23rd.

Math Lunch

Next Monday, the 22nd, will be the last day of Middle School Math Lunch.

Granite School Lunch

We would like to remind everyone that all balances owed to Granite School Lunch must be paid by the last day of school. Granite School Lunch will bill Saint Vincent for any outstanding balances. Balances remaining will be deducted from bank accounts on file June 5th. Please call or stop by the school office with any questions.

Summer Party Boards

The 8th Annual St. Vincent Family Tent Event/Campout
Enjoy camping on the lower field of Saint Vincent with other Saint Vincent families Saturday, June 3rd starting at 4:00 p.m. through 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 4th. A variety of activities will be available along with dinner and breakfast. BYOB. $50 per family, or $15 a person. Kids must come with a parent.

Pie and Beer Day
Don’t just celebrate Pioneer Day with the traditional Utah Days of 47 Parade! Join us for Pie and Beer Day on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the home of Ryan and Stephanie Linke. Cost is $35 per person (Adults Only). Sweet and savory pies will be paired with local brews. Favorite traditional tastes as well as uniquely paired flavors will be featured.

Saint Vincent Summer Camp

This is a reminder that if you are planning on having your child attend our Summer Camp at Extended Day, you will need to register your child by May 26th so we may staff and plan accordingly.
