Grandparents’ Day Schedule
80s Rewind Grandparents’ Day at Saint Vincent School – This Friday (May 5th)
9 a.m. Mass at Saint Vincent Parish
Tour the school from 8:30 to 8:45 a.m. If going to Mass, please arrive by 8:45 a.m. to be seated with your grandchildren.
9:45 a.m. Continental Breakfast in Holy Family Hall
For grandparents, friends, and parents only.
10:30 a.m. Musical Program in School Gym
Come see the entire school perform great music from the 80s!
If you plan on attending the breakfast, please RSVP at (801) 277-6702 ext. 0 by tomorrow (Wednesday) before Noon.
All fees will be due on June 5th and will automatically be taken out of your tuition account. The fees for the 2017-2018 school year are as follows:
- Student Services Fee: K-8th grade, $175 per child
(Includes student insurance, Diocesan fees, textbooks, standardized tests, technology fee, workbooks, and yearbook)
- Math Fee: 6th – 8th grade, $175 per child
- Graduation Fee: 8th grade only, $75
All fees are non-refundable. If you do not have an automatic withdrawal account, please send a check to the school office by June 5th.
You may start bringing in your gently used uniforms (no holes, no broken buttons or zippers) in a bag labeled with your name to the school office. Those donating will receive FREE DRESS for the last week of school! If you are in 8th grade, you will receive your FREE DRESS the last week of school starting May 15th. We will be collecting used uniforms until Friday, May 19th.
Used uniforms will be sold on Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and May 22nd and 23rd before and after school in the school gym. This is a great way to save money!
HSA will need help the week before the sale to set up, as well as during the sales times. Remember, volunteers get first pick! 🙂

Academic Progress of St. Vincent Graduates
In response to one of the areas identified by the School Board’s Strategic Planning Committee, we are communicating academic information regarding St. Vincent graduates who are attending Judge Memorial. In the first quarter of this school year, 80% of St. Vincent graduates (52 of 65) made the Judge Honor Roll. In the second quarter, 76% of graduates (49 of 65) made the Honor Roll. 40% of our graduates (26 of 65) are enrolled in Advanced Placement classes (2 ninth graders, 4 tenth graders, 11 eleventh graders, and 9 twelfth graders). Way to go, alumni!

Spring Concert May 9th
Mark your calendars: Spring Concert Next Week
The entire 6th grade class, the 4th-Grade Beginner Band and the upper grades Honor Band, in addition to the 3rd-5th Choir and the Middle School Chorus, will perform their annual Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 9th at 6:30 PM in the gym. The music featured will be from the 80s and will included several pieces not played at the Grandparents’ Day program.
May Crowning – May 11th
The May Crowning Ceremony for Saint Vincent de Paul Parish School will be Thursday, May 11th at 2:15 PM. The ceremony will take place in the outside amphitheater (in the gym if weather is bad).
Please bring PLANTABLE flowers to place in front of Mary at our ceremony. Plants will be planted on the school grounds after the ceremony to make our grounds beautiful. Thank you!
Saint Vincent Talent Show May 18th
Don’t forget the annual Saint Vincent Talent Show will be held Thursday, May 18th from 1:30 to 3:00. Download the Talent Show Entry Form or pick one up in the main office. There are only 30 slots available, so please do not delay getting entries in.
Friday, May 5th under the pavilion!

Saint Vincent Library
This is just a reminder that the last day of Library for middle school will be this Friday, May 5th, and the last day for the elementary students is May 12th. Please make sure all books are returned.
Pet Contest – Extended Deadline
Our Student Council has extended the deadline for the pet contest. You will have until this Wednesday, May 3rd.
Enter a PET CONTEST for charity! Is your pet the cutest, the largest, the fluffiest, or the most colorful? Do they have the cutest costume, the longest tongue, the coolest name, or the coolest pattern? Fill out an entry form, attach a picture of your pet and $1 donation, and see if your pet wins! Entries will be accepted until this Wednesday. Judging will take place next week. All donations will be given to the Humane Society.
Duct Tape the Principal to the Wall this Thursday!
The weather looks amazing for Thursday, so we have rescheduled duct taping Principal Gary Green to the wall for this Thursday! For $10, you can give your student the opportunity to get two pieces of duct tape to hold up our beloved principal to the wall. Online registration is closed, but your student can still participate if they bring in $10 to school on Thursday. We’ll also have the students guess in advance how many pieces of duct tape will be needed to stick Mr. Green to the wall. A prize will be given for the closest estimate.

Time: 11:15 to 1:15 p.m. during lunch & recess
Location: Holy Family Hall
Cost: $10 per student for two pieces of duct tape (donate as many times as you want!)
We are still looking for donations for the Middle School Reading Auction on May 10th. The most popular items to donate support outdoor fun as well as scrip cards (gift cards) for neat activities and treats. Students who bring in an item, with their name attached, will receive a prize at the auction.

Granite School Lunch
We would like to remind everyone that all balances owed to Granite School Lunch must be paid by the last day of school. Granite School Lunch will bill Saint Vincent for any outstanding balances. Balances remaining will be deducted from bank accounts on file June 5th. Please call or stop by the school office with any questions.
