Our Lady of Fatima
This week we will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun (Oct. 13th) which occurred during the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima to the three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. Our Lady asked us for amendment, prayer (daily rosary), and sacrifice for world peace. This is not just an event that happened 100 years ago, this message is especially relevant for us today. You can learn about the Fatima Apparitions and Our Lady’s message at the links below.
The Story of Fatima
The Peace Plan from Heaven
We are asking for gift card donations this year for our annual auction during Parent-Teacher Conferences. There will be special auction order forms in each classroom with some “wish item” cards we don’t normally carry but will help boost our silent and live auction packages. Simply fill out the form and attach cash or check. You can leave it with your class teacher, or bring it to Kat in the office.
These orders will be applied to Parent Scrip Program requirements, so please consider donating to our auction. Contact Therese Clay at 801-527-2043 or
firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions. Thank you!

Standards-Based Report Cards (K-3)
Students in kindergarten through 3rd grade will receive a standards-based report card for English-Language Arts, Math, and Study Skills. This means that, instead of receiving one overall grade for the subjects of language, reading, spelling, math, and study skills, students will receive a grade for each individual standard that is assessed each quarter within those subjects. The standards that the diocese is using are M (Meets Standard), A (Approaching Standard), and N (Needs Intervention). The logistics of transitioning to this new grading system and to RenWeb (the diocese’s new grade recording system) have been very difficult. Please bear with us as we adjust to two new systems at once. More information will be sent to you as we get closer to the end of the quarter (October 19).
Sign up and follow us so you stay informed and see photos and posts about events and activities at our school. Please join!
