Run Back to School Social

The first annual Run Back to School Social is this Friday, September 16th at 6PM on the school campus. Please join us on the pavilion and support food trucks from Rubadue’s Saucy Skillet and Harry’s Comfort Bowl, as well as desserts from Aimee’s Home Cookin’ and Dippin’ Dots. Please note, registration for the Fun Run is now closed, but there may be limited number of t-shirts available to purchase. We hope to see you there!

Picture Day – September 19th

Lifetouch will be on campus on Monday, September 19th for student picture day. All students are required to wear full dress which includes their vest. We have sent home with your child the picture order form. Please make sure you send your order form back with your money by Wednesday, September 14th or you can go to Lifetouch.com. Saint Vincent Picture Day ID is UM776143Q0.

We are also looking for 3 parent volunteers to help Lifetouch from 8:15AM – 12:30PM. Parents will
assist with getting the kids from the classrooms, gathering the picture order forms and any other needs that they may have. Please contact the front office at Saint Vincent if you are able to help (you will be able to get free pictures if you volunteer).

Oktoberfest – RSVP by September 20th

Last Call – RSVP by Tuesday, September 20th! Oktoberfest isFriday, September 30th in the Benvegnu Center. This will include beer, brats and dancing. All for $35 per person! Line up your sitter and sign up to join in the fun today. Click here to sign up.

Box Tops and Labels for Education

The following dates are the days we will be collecting box tops and labels for education. You may turn them into your class at anytime. If each classroom turns in 25 box tops or labels for education per student the entire class will earn an extra recess.

Flu Shot Clinic – October 7th

Community Nursing Services (CNS) will be administering flu shots from noon until 3 PM in the Holy Family Hall. Please note, this year there will be NO FLU MIST vaccine available. CNS can bill most insurance companies, or cash payment will be $35 for the Flu Shot. Please register by sending an email to kelleybeaudry@gmail.com with the number of vaccines your family needs.

The Rocky Mountain College Fair – October 1st

The Rocky Mountain College Fair will be held at Juan Diego High School on Saturday, October 1st from 11:30AM – 3:30PM. This is a great opportunity to learn and meet with over 90 college and university representatives from around the country. This event is free to both students (6th-12th) and parents. On-site parking will be available.
Workshops: 11:30AM – 12:15PM (Admission essays, financial aid and interviewing)
College Counselors: 1:00PM – 3:30PM

Jubilee Year of Mercy retreat

Granite School Lunch

This is a reminder that if you have not yet set up your child for the hot lunch program with Granite School District or if you need to put money on your child’s account. Please do so by going to Paypams.com. Also if you child has a negative balance in their account they will be allowed only 1 serving until their account is brought back up to a positive amount.

Mr. Larrabee Room Parent/Volunteer

Mr. Larrabee is looking for a parent volunteer to help him with a variety of duties with choir, band, hand bells, all school musical productions, etc. Please contact Mr. Larrabee at slarrabee@stvincents-school.org for more details.

Internet Safety Night for Parents – by Netsmarts

Internet Safety Night for Parents will be on Thursday, September 29th from 6:30 – 7:30 PM in the school gym. This presentation is for parents/guardians from the school and parish. The speaker will cover important topics and provides resources for parents on how to protect their children from online predators via social media and console games. The presentation will also educate on how to setup privacy settings, and speak to the dangers and consequences of sexting and cyber bullying. Mr. Green has offered 1 PIP hour for each parent in attendance.

Alumni Search

Calling all alumni parents who have children attending Saint Vincent School, we would love to hear from you! For the annual report, we will be putting together a collage of pictures of our current alumni and their families who attend here. Please take a family snapshot and send in a jpeg format to tclay@stvincents-school.org In addition we also would love you to tell us important events, such as when you graduated from Saint Vincent, what high school and college you attended with graduation years, career moves, and what child/children are also attending the school or have attended with their graduating years. All submissions need to be received by September 28, 2016. Thank you.

Saint Vincent de Paul School Service Week:

Join us to serve our community and follow in the footsteps of Saint Vincent de Paul. The Faith Formation Committee has set up opportunities for our school families to serve their community during the feast week of Saint Vincent de Paul, September 24th – September 30th. Saturday, September 24th 9 a.m-Meet at the Carmelite Monastery to help clean up the grounds from the Carmelite Fair that is held earlier that week.

Sunday, September 25th 4:30-7:30 p.m. – Ronald McDonald House. Come make and serve dinner for families who have children that are ill at Primary Children’s Hospital.

Monday, September 26th 4:30-7:30 p.m. – Ronald McDonald House. Another opportunity to serve families.

Tuesday-FEAST DAY OF SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SCHOOL ACTIVITY DURING SCHOOL HOURS FOR STUDENTS ONLY. The students will be putting together the SOCKS OF LOVE FOR THE HOMELESS. WE ARE IN NEED OF ADULT SIZE ATHLETIC SOCKS to fill with the travel size soaps that have been coming in. Socks can be dropped off by the school office. Thank you to those who have donated so far. The money collected at this mass will support St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen.

Wednesday, September 28th 6:30-8:00 p.m.- Come meet at the Benvegnu Center to make sandwiches for the Food Bank. Families can come for the whole time or just part of the time.

Thursday and Friday, September 29th and 30th – Encourage your family to serve someone in your neighborhood. Write about your experience and email it to karhaney@yahoo.com. We also have boxes that can be decorated by your family and then returned back to the school. The boxes are given to those who receive food from the Food Bank. If you would like a box. email karhaney@yahoo.com. We hope you are able to participate in any of the events above. Contact Kara Haney with any questions and to sign up for any of the events!
