Monday, September 3rd in observance of Labor Day.

All School Mass Days

All School Masses are held each Friday at 9:00 a.m. Once a month, one grade is responsible for the readings, taking up the gifts, etc. These are beautiful Masses and we encourage parents to attend, especially if your child’s grade is hosting. We will also be celebrating the Feast of Saint Vincent de Paul on Thursday, September 27th, and 8th grade will host the Mass.

Middle School Dance

If you have a middle school student in 7th or 8th grade, they are invited to attend the Diocesan-wide dances held at different Catholic schools each month. The first dance is scheduled for Friday, September 7th at J.E. Cosgriff from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. This is a fun, safe activity, and your student will meet other Catholic students in their grade levels from around the diocese.

Picture Day

Monday, September 10th. Full uniform required. If your student is sick that day there will be a make-up picture day on Tuesday, October 16th.

Mad Science After-School Program

Mad Science 4 registration is now being accepted for students in K-5. The classes are a one-hour, hands-on science program with fun experiments each week! They will take place after school Mondays until 4:15 p.m. on the following days: September 10th, 17th, and 24th, and end on October 1st. Cost is $47 for the four weeks if you register by Monday, September 3rd, after that date the cost is $50 up until registration closes on Tuesday, September 18th. Class is limited to a certain number of students, so register today!

5th Grade Bible Ceremony

The 5th graders will receive the bibles they will use for religion class throughout their remaining years at Saint Vincent in a special ceremony during the All School Mass on Friday, September 14th in the gym. Mass begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by a reception for students and their families in the Benvegnu Center.

6th Annual Fun Run

The sixth annual Saint Vincent Fun Run will be held on Friday, September 21st on the school campus. Check-in is at 5:30 p.m. at the pavilion, and the race begins at 6 p.m. Bring the whole family for a fun run (or walk) around campus and enjoy the school social in the pavilion afterwards. Black’s Sliders Food Truck and Dippin’ Dots will have tasty food available for purchase. Fun Run Cost: $5 per person or $20 per family; a T-shirt is included (must register by Sept. 14 to guarantee a shirt). Cost is $5 per person or $20 for a family.

Enjoy the parish picnic this year on the parish grounds Sunday, September 23rd beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Spirit Dress Day

Will be held on Tuesday, September 26th. Wear Saint Vincent spirit gear or team jersey to show your Viking pride!

Auction News

Our annual auction is set for Saturday, March 2, 2019. Mark your calendars now!! We are currently seeking volunteers to help with several sub-committees. We are open to an individual or co-chairs, with an emphasis on Opportunity Drawing and Silent Auction areas. First Lego League (5th – 8th Grade)

The First Lego League is back in force, and this year’s theme is “Into Orbit!” If you are a budding engineer, computer programmer, science fair presenter, or just a great team member, FLL needs you. We have as many as 10 slots on the team. It’s a serious commitment, weekly meetings (TBD) to prepare for the three judged segments of our competition in January: 1) Building and programming an autonomous robot as a team; 2) A Science-fair type presentation (solving a physical or social problem faced by humans during long-duration space exploration); and 3) Our teamwork itself. It’s a great experience- a lot of work, and a lot of fun!!
