8th Grade Mass at the Cathedral

Friday, October 5th at 10:00 a.m. the 8th grade will attend Mass at the Cathedral of the Madeleine with all the 8th graders from our Utah Catholic Schools.

Blessing of the Animals

Friday, October 5th at 11:45 a.m. At our annual Blessing of the Animals, we honor St. Francis of Assisi and celebrate his love of all creation. Families can bring their pets (dogs, cats, fish, hamsters etc.) to be blessed at 11:45 a.m. in the pavilion area. If you cannot make it with your pet, your child is welcome to bring a picture of their pet that they can have blessed.

Say Boo to the Flu Clinic

Get your flu shots at the annual flu clinic on Friday, October 12th from Noon to 2:00 p.m. in Holy Family Hall for those who RSVP’d by October 2nd. Community Nursing Services (CNS) will be administering this year’s shots and can bill most insurance companies, or cash payment will be $35 for the flu shot. Please note, CNS will NOT be administering the flu mist vaccine this year.

Oktoberfest

Saturday, October 13th in the Benvegnu Center from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m.
Cost is $35 per person (includes food, drink and entertainment). Adults only. Click here to register online.

Picture Make-Up Day

Picture make-up day is Tuesday, October 16th. If your student was absent on picture day in September, then just come to pictures with an order form. Please have your child bring their old photo packet to school if they are getting retakes.

St. Vincent School Night at Chipotle

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support Saint Vincent de Paul Parish School. Come in to the Chipotle at 6924 South Park Centre Drive in Cottonwood Heights on Tuesday, October 16th between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. Tell the cashier you’re supporting St. Vincent School to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to the school.

End of 1st Quarter/Report Cards

The end of 1st quarter is Thursday, October 18th. Report cards will be sent home on Monday, October 22nd.

All School Mass Days

In addition to our Friday Mass schedule, we will be celebrating Mass on Thursday, October 18th. Fourth grade will host in honor of our saint of the month, St. Therese of Lisieux. The Mass collection will benefit “Art with Heart,” a benefit for Shriners Hospital. There will not be a school Mass on Friday, October 19th as we are off for fall break.

Spirit Dress Day

Will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd. The “theme” is Black & White Day! Wear the colors of black and/or white. Students may also choose to wear St. Vincent spirit gear instead of the Spirit Day theme.

Book Fair

The annual Scholastic Book Fair runs Wednesday, October 24th through Friday, October 26th in the school library. Support the library and school by purchasing a book or two. This is a great place to purchase books for your child, and they make great Christmas presents! The library will also have a “wish list” for that library and for each teacher/grade if you want to purchase one of these books for the classroom.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Thursday, October 25th and Friday, October 26th beginning at 1:00 p.m. There is a 12:30 p.m. dismissal on both Thursday and Friday. Please sign-up for a specific time online. Watch for details in an upcoming blast. Don’t forget there is a book fair in the library from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on these days.

Middle School Dance

For 7th or 8th graders, will be held on Friday, October 26th at Our Lady of Lourdes from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Please have your student bring their picture ID.

Halloween Carnival

Saturday, October 27th in Holy Family Hall from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. This is a fun event for children (and adults) to show off their costumes and play games for treats and prizes. Cost is $3 per child or $10 per family. The Knights of Columbus will also be hosting a dinner that includes a grilled hot dog, bag of assorted chips, and lemonade/water. All children in costumes are invited to eat for free, and the cost is $2 for everyone else, including parents. Family and friends are invited.

Auction News

“Sci-Fi –N- Superhero Soiree” is our theme for this year’s annual auction. RESERVATIONS BEGIN IN NOVEMBER so watch for your invitation to come home with your student. We are also currently seeking items to be donated to our auction for our silent and live auctions. If you have an item to donate, please bring it to the school office.
