Beginning Band Clinics Date Change

For students interested in beginning band (4th graders), we will have band clinics on September 5th and 6th (originally scheduled for August 29th and 30th) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. At these clinics, students will work with an instructor who is a specialist on the instrument they have chosen to play in order to get a great start on learning the mechanics of their instrument, how to produce a good tone, and learn their first few notes. Beginning Band is held during the students’ music class period throughout the school year.

Middle School Choir

Students 6th – 8th grade can be in the middle school choir. Practices will be Thursday mornings from 7:30 to 8:10 a.m. beginning September 7th. Practices are held in the Saint Cecilia Music Room (downstairs of the Holy Family Hall).

Middle School Dance

If you have a middle school student in 7th or 8th grade, they are invited to attend the Diocesan wide dances held at different Catholic schools each month. The first dance is scheduled for Friday, September 8th at J.E. Cosgriff from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. This is a fun, safe activity, and your student will meet other Catholic students in their grade levels from around the diocese.

Strategy Game Club (4th – 8th) Grade

Join Mrs. Toner for Strategy Game Club on Friday’s after school in the Music/Art room. We will be playing fun retro games like Stratego, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Cribbage, Uno, Skip-Bo, and others. No experience needed, Mrs. Toner will happily explain the rules and play along. Unplug from your screens for an hour and see how much fun board games & cards can be! Pick up your child in the Spring Lane parking lot at 1:30. It’s a win-win, you get an extra hour to yourselves and your child learns a new game. We are putting the Fun back into Fridays! Please see below for the schedule. Dates subject to change.

Utah/BYU Football Game

Bring the family and whatever snacks and beverages you like to watch the big game on Saturday, September 9th with your fellow Ute fans at the Saint Vincent Amphitheater (by EDP). Game time is 8:15 p.m., but you may come as early as 6 p.m. after Mass to cook in the parking lot and picnic on the grass. No cost! If you are going to the Adult Volleyball Tournament in the gym, feel free to join us afterwards. Please remember to drink responsibly. The tailgating on Guardsman gets rowdy, but the tailgating in the St. Vincent parking lot needs to be tame. (Thanks to Brody Candilora for making this possible.)
