Calling all volunteers for HSA
Hi Friends! Megan Donohue, your 2019-20 HSA (Home and School Association…our version of PTA!) President here! It’s my honor to lead this fun-loving crew as we plan parties/parades, support our annual auction/room parents, and shower our teachers/staff/parents with gratitude. HSA is the glitter that gives our school events extra sparkle. I invite ANYONE and EVERYONE (Dads I’m talking to you;) to join us! Absolutely no prior HSA experience needed…in fact HSA a perfect way to meet new parents and get to know our school! You decide which events/functions to support. Jesse DeOllos Retirement
We are sad to announce that Jesse DeOllos is retiring. For 33 years, he has tirelessly cared for the school and parish property. Please join us to celebrate his time with us. We would like a lot of people there to show how much he means to this community. You can find the details of his celebration here.
Used Book Sale
We will be holding a used book sale on Saturday, August 3rd, during our used uniform sale. Mrs. Zanarini is making space for new and popular books for our library, which means that we will be selling off some or the library’s older stock. All used books are a quarter and there will be a collection jar at the uniform sales table.
Used Uniform Sal
Our used uniform sale is Saturday, August 3, 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. Please stop by and check out our stellar deals! Cash, Check or Credit/Debit Cards are accepted. ACH is also available, but you will need to have the current form on file with the “other” box selected. All transactions using ACH will be withdrawn on August 7th. Copies of this form will be available at the sale.
We have lowered our prices for this event in order to reduce inventory!

Back to School/New Parent Social!
Raising kids is a tough job, and our fellow parents are our support group. After all the hard work of preparing the children for the start of a new school year, we need a time to empathize and socialize with one another. So all St. Vincent parents, new ones in particular, are invited to the Back to School/New Parent Social on Saturday, August 24, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm in Holy Family Hall. Bring your own food and beverages, and enjoy fellowship, music, and dancing! Start the year off right with the best Catholic school community in west Holladay! Don’t miss it!
Catholic Community Services is holding its annual backpack bonanza. St. Vincent’s K of C is collecting donations at the entrances to the church from July 6th- August 17th. Please check the link for needed items and consider making a donation.
All Star Challenge
The All Star Challenge is a great way to strengthen your mind, body and spirit during the summer months and earn exciting prizes. Please take a moment to check your child’s belongings and sit down with them to review the pink, Lit All Star Scorecard and Summer Challenge List. If you are unable to locate your copy, don’t worry, the links above will provide everything you need to get started! Scorecards will be collected the first week of school.
Student Class Supply Lists
It is that time again! Get your coupons clipped and your shopping shoes on. Here are the class supply lists for the coming school year. The lists will also be available soon on our website under the parents/policies page. You can either bring your school supplies on the first day or bring them to your classroom August 12-15th 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m.
Dress Code and New Uniform Supplier Options
Since we have made changes to purchasing options for our school uniforms and questions may arise, we would like you to review the student dress code policy to ensure that you are on the right track. The dress code policy is found in the student handbook and an excerpt is included here.
This coming school year, you will be able to purchase pants, shorts, and skorts from a different supplier other than St. Paul’s Place. All uniform items will still be available through St. Paul’s Place, but in answer to requests for different options, our Uniform Committee (Jen Cockle, Carina Lambert, and Cara Robertson) investigated new supplier options. As a result of this study, the school is working with Land’s End, Old Navy and Gap for our pants, shorts, and skorts. The Committee noted that, if you watch for the sales, you will be able to save money on these items compared to what you have spent in the past. Please visit the following links to view your options:
St. Paul’s Place is closed for the summer until August 3rd. They will have extended hours through August 11th, but their regular business hours during the school year are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 7:45am-4:00pm; Closed Wednesday.
Please note that HSA will have another Used Uniform Sale in August (Date and Time TBD).

Smith’s rewards is a great way to help raise funds for our school. If you link your Smith’s Rewards cards to St Vincent de Paul Parish School (YW289), you can join the 24 families and friends of the school who already participate. Last quarter, those families earned $127.07 for our school. We wish to extend a big “thank you” to those who participated.
