Saint Vincent de Paul School Service Week

great-week-of-service-bigJoin us to serve our community and follow in the footsteps of Saint Vincent de Paul. The Faith Formation Committee has set up opportunities for school families to serve their community during the feast week of Saint Vincent de Paul,
Sept. 24th-Sept. 30th.

*Thank you to those who have signed up so far. We have filled Sunday, September 25th, but still need helpers for the other opportunities listed below. Please also continue to send in adult crew or tube socks and small toiletries for our school wide project on Tuesday, September 27th.

  • Saturday, September 24th 9am: Meet at the Carmelite Monastery to help clean up the grounds from the Carmelite Fair that is held earlier that week. Bring work gloves and rakes.
  • Monday, September 26th 4:30-7:30, Ronald McDonald House: Another opportunity to cook and serve for families who have children at Primary Children’s Hospital
  • Tuesday, September 27th: FEAST DAY OF SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SCHOOL ACTIVITY DURING SCHOOL HOURS FOR STUDENTS ONLY. The students will be putting together the SOCKS OF LOVE FOR THE HOMELESS. WE ARE IN NEED OF ADULT SIZE ATHLETIC CREW OR TUBE SOCKS to fill with the travel size soaps that have been coming in. Socks can be dropped off by the school office.Thank you to those who have donated so far!!!!! The filled sock’s will then be collected and given to the Road Home.
  • Wednesday, September 28th 6:00-8:00: Come meet at the Benvegnu Center (which is the building northeast of the church and park in Kings Row Parking Lot) to make sandwiches for the Food Bank. Families can come for the whole time or just part of the time.
  • Thursday and Friday September 29th-30th: Encourage your family to serve someone in your neighborhood. Write about your experience and email it to karhaney@yahoo.com.

We also have boxes that can be decorated by your family and then returned back to the school. The boxes are given to those who receive food from the Food Bank. If you would like a box email karhaney@yahoo.com.
