Winning Artist

Sabrina Reiser, a student at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, won first place in both the regional and national Smokey the Bear/Woodsy Owl Poster Contest in the First Grade Category. The contest is sponsored by the National Garden Clubs, whose members judge the top winners in each grade category. From those grade-level winners, U.S. Forest Service employees help select the grand prize winner, who along with his or her family receives airfare and accommodations for a trip to the nation’s Capitol, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s webpage on the contest.
